Cord length 5 inches with no ends. Both ends of the cable are the same. They're like little strands of wire. If you can find a replacement cable that fits the Revain please give me a link. it comes with five wires, I expect to end up needing more. They always break sooner or later, don't they? It'll probably come out about 3/4" from the edge, so the effective cut area left on the board is about 4" wide. 3" tall if the same piece of cheese is 4" wide. I have found that slicing cheese on a board like this is a bit more difficult than I expected. It can be difficult to hold the cheese even while you are cutting as the wire basically goes into the corner and wants to push cheese off the board. Something to think about if you are used to using manual cheese slicers as I am giving one less than five stars because slicing the block into even slices is more difficult than using a handheld device and slippage which I mentioned. No disregard for the build quality of the product itself. It seems solid enough and was easy to install. It just isn't as easy to quickly cut a standard block of cheese into a stack of even slices as I'm used to with traditional hand slicers.
