This is not an algae killer but a special bacterium that feeds on algae that swim in the water, making the water green and opaque. I tried it in my 16,500 gallon pond last month and as long as you continue to add it omits the pea soup. It does not affect algae such as thread algae or substances that stick to the pond liner. Can be easily used with koi, goldfish and tadpoles. Make sure you turn off the UV rays, otherwise it will kill the bacteria and prevent it from working.
