My 1993 F150 is having trouble starting. It stalls from time to time, and after checking the fuel pressure and realizing that both tanks were within range, I considered other options. Fuel pressure can be a factor because although the reading is within limits, there is a condition at the bottom of the range. However, this stall occurs in both tanks, and if the pressure is low in only one tank, the problem may only be in that tank. The other two items I'm looking at are the idle air control (IAC) and the fuel injectors. The IAC valve was the cheaper of the two, so I started with that. This part is easy to install and comes with a gasket. It didn't fix the problem so my old one was still fine. So. It's time to move on to the injectors, but that won't be any time soon.
