This thing really gave off warmth and light. I think it's too much. When it worked it was amazing! I held it about 6 inches above my tank and it still had my warm zone around 96f. Now, after 17 days, the lightbulb has burned out. Not sure if I had the faulty one, but the base I'm using is rated for 200W, so definitely not. I am very disappointed in this product as I had to walk to the pet store an hour away for a replacement to keep my turtle from dying. I read the reviews and bought it anyway thinking people don't have a high enough wattage base as most are only rated at 150w. Even with the right base, this product is a failure. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
