My wife and I use these pencil cases to store pencils/underlining/highlighting tools for our Bibles. We wanted something simple and comfortable, but not ugly. I used a bag protector so this was like an upgrade! The bag easily folds in half with twelve pins. With twelve pens and two ballpoint pens, it's a bit more difficult, but it's still doable. I have twelve pencils and four pens, and it barely closes - there is a noticeable bulge. It works but I wish it was a little bigger. I found the pencils shifted too much with the bag as it was so I stuffed a cardboard cereal box into each bag to keep mine stiff - maybe that's one of the reasons I have a hard time to close them, so choose your poison. They were pretty durable - I had them for about a year, mostly with regular use. I think it fits perfectly in a backpack or computer bag. I appreciate the flap that flips up to protect the pens.
