Review on 🍞 Hamilton Beach Black 2-Slice Toaster with Extra-Wide Slots, Shade Selector, Toast Boost, and Auto Shutoff (22633) by Linda Wood

This is a disappointing purchase made at the end of December 2016. Now it is broken (after 3 months). We chose this product because our previous Hamilton Beach Plain Toaster has served us well for many years. This new design belies its poor quality, which includes a smaller toast section that barely fits in a standard-sized loaf, a retractable mechanism that keeps the lever centered so burning fingers can't reach the hot toast, a flimsy one Flip crumb flap on the bottom that requires you to lift the toaster to gain access (previous version had a much more desirable and functional slide-out crumb tray on the bottom), a sub-surface design flaw that encircles a sub-surface rim on the toaster the outside of the toaster collecting crumbs that are difficult to remove and as other reviews have mentioned, an oddly placed cord that attaches to the underside of the front of the toaster body (who would ever pick a toaster from the front?). Yes, it was a budget device, but there's no excuse for such poor design and quality. I should just attribute it to bad luck, but I don't want others to have the same experience, which is why I'm writing this review.
