Once the heat shrink tubing is removed, the covers can be easily removed from the screwdriver mount. This is an interesting case, there are no hinges but each side is held in place by small magnets on the four corners of the case. I still wouldn't want to give it up as I have a feeling all the small parts will fly. The screwdriver's main handle feels like precision aluminum and is comfortable to hold. The individual bits are held in place by magnets and simply snap into a small slot in the housing. Getting the bits out is not easy. My big fingers made it difficult to grab a tiny piece when they were all stacked so close together. I ended up using the handle of a screwdriver to pry out one of the bits and then used that bit as a pry bar to get the right size. When you insert the bit into the handle, the magnets seem to hold it in place fairly well. I still had a screw or two where the bit wanted to catch on the screw and popped out of the screwdriver. The flex bar included in the kit is a very inexpensive nylon bar and I don't think it will last very long. I would recommend using a rubber band or strap around the case to keep it closed as I have a feeling it will come loose easily.
