I almost wrecked a new car!

I followed the instructions to the letter and now there are tens of thousands of tiny scratches on the hood of my new 60km car. I'm tired of the stomach ache. There's a thin piece of plastic stuck to the clay that's barely visible, apparently you have to peel it off first.
