I remember years ago rice cookers were built differently. You cook rice and it keeps for 24 to 48 hours and still tastes and smells like the first day you cooked it. But at some point, the quality of the rice cooker deteriorated, and with this new generation of rice cookers, the rice starts smelling and turning yellow the next day of rice cooking. I know they don't recommend keeping rice in a rice cooker for that long, but I grew up like this and I'm fine even at this 2-3 day old and the rice cooker if it's still good. I have tried many rice cookers and many of them have not met my expectations. I ended up wasting a lot of rice because if you forgot to put it in the fridge right away, you wouldn't have anything to eat the next day when I got rice to eat. Imagine feeling like I'm going to eat rice when you need it most and instead you eat a sandwich. This rice cooker took me back in time. I make rice in this thing and after 2 days the rice is still in perfect condition. I am sure that whenever I open the lid of the rice cooker, the rice is waiting there for me to be fully cooked.
