I have been using this set for over a year now. Looks nice, but the pepper mill disappoints from day one. The button at the top of the grinder adjusts the degree of grinding of the pepper. But in any case, you can only grind finely, because if you get the pepper even a little coarse, the tip is ready to fall off. (Turning the knob fully counter-clockwise allows for a coarser cut and also removes the top to fill the grinder.) Even worse, after using the grinder, even a slight counter-clockwise rotation of the wooden top leaves a pile of pepper on top your table. It's dirty. But the final straw for me (and why I'm writing this review right now) is that I tried to grind my favorite Penzeys Spices pepper and the grinder didn't work at all. I suspect the peppercorns were too hard or maybe too big for the grinder. But this is crazy. The coffee grinder just doesn't work as I expected and there are no visible defects.
