I have just installed the 24" version and we are very pleased with the look and function. To dim or turn on or off, you need to get your hand very close to the sensor, within 4 to 6 inches. . In hindsight, that makes sense because you don't want the lights flickering while you're cooking. The reason I ordered this product is because the house we bought already had GE halogen bulbs (120V/60A, 12W) and half of them stopped working. They also burned very badly, which bothered me. The plugs and power requirements are exactly the same, so all I had to do was remove the old bulb and plug it in the new one (the previous owner had the bulbs hardwired under the cabinet and wired to the switch). These are the first 24 hours. "There was a test to see if I could swap them out, so I ordered enough to replace the remaining halogens in the kitchen.
