. I got this product for my GE fridge due Bought good reviews and price. I haven't tested the water on how well it filters, but on paper it appears to be on par with a standard GE product. Plus, for the price of one GE filter, you get 3 of them. This would be a 5/5* rating except I can actually taste the chlorine in the water now. Before the replacement, my city water tasted almost like spring or bottled water with a standard GE filter. After the change, it was immediately noticeable that the water now had a chloride taste. Note that this in no way makes the water undrinkable, just a little disappointing. The manufacturer recommends a replacement period of 6 months and since I'm too frugal not to use it, it looks like I'll put up with the "taste" for the next year and a half. After that I will definitely buy a stock filter.
