I bought this type of wider hanger after clothes made of thin fabric were constantly stretched and their weight pulled the ends of thin hangers. i was sold They take up more closet space, but the point of hanging them is to store things, air them out, and make them easily visible and separable. This type of hanger does the job perfectly. This is my fourth order of this type and I've replaced almost all of my flimsy hangers with them. Received this order today and received one of each of the three previous orders to compare. Costs? Roughly the same for all orders. End? This is a light wood finish in a gloss lacquer finish. So far I have liked one dark finish best and two matte and glossy. I only noticed two differences from my previous three brands/orders. First, the metal hook is not yet attached in them. You will receive 6 hooks and 6 small metal rings to collect. The rings are apparently meant to limit your makeup ambitions, lest you get carried away and bury the thread too deep. One thing you don't want to do is skive the wood along these threads because then there's nothing to bite off and render the hanger useless. The design of the hook is also different, more like a flat ribbon bent into a stylized question mark shape. I like the look, although the function is identical. I don't see the thread gauge of the others already fitted, so don't know about the holding capacity comparison. The only other difference is that the stripe is on the bottom and you can fold the pants. In none of the 4 sets is the bar embedded in the sloping sides, which would require additional manufacturing steps, although it would make for a potentially stronger product. My first three sets show that the ends of this rod screw into the side arms with a screw on each end. This brand uses a nail to hold the shaft to the body. Screws are almost always safer than small nails. That's why I deducted a star. I have to use them and live with them to see strengths or weaknesses so they may need to be reported. Otherwise, I really like these hangers. Assembly only takes a few minutes and is effortless. Good value for me. If you normally hang heavy pants on these hangers, you can choose a more expensive model with a sunken frame and bonded side arms.
