It was very easy to assemble. You'll need a flat head screwdriver and an Allen key (can't remember the size), but they're not really needed. Our kitty loves it. It's less than I expected, but that's ok. The little bouncy spring keeps slipping out of the included suction cup, but that may be because she's very aggressive with it. They contain a small package of catnip with installation. You won't believe the size of the box it comes in. It was packed very well. All natural wood finishes, no clear coats. Very easy to set up.
