I like the rigidity of this mount for an SUV. Easy to adjust and great fit! Note, however, that the threaded part can come loose if you do not mount it with a weight shift in the direction of tightening. Square, just like RAM ball joints with 1/4-20 threaded studs. This mount combined with some cinematic camera mount components really makes it a compact phone mount with modularity for other components in your vehicle. Much less bulky than 1" ball joints, but they move if you hit them hard enough since there are no rubber-coated balls to grab. I couldn't handle most of the 1" sphere components trying to keep organized, but this "assembly kit"-like setup proved to work for me.
