I got the short one Bought (actually bought 2 of these) and they feel nice and snap snugly into my MacBook Pro and hard drive, I like the shorter length so I can tuck the hard drive under my MacBook Pro (it rests on a cooling rack) and it's nice to put in a backpack without having to expand it.I also like the feel of the fabric as it's more flexible than other types I've received.I don't see a speed difference between this cable and the USB Noticed the cables that came with my hard drive, I got these cables to swap out so I didn't have to carry an adapter around.
