Review on πŸ”§ GM Genuine Parts 217-435 Idle Air Control Valve for Fuel Injection by Eli Saumell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The only one who buys.

2002 Cobalt 246 with Volvo Penta 8.1L engine (GM). Runs rough, doesn't start well, runs better after warming up, idles reportedly 550rpm but sometimes idles 1050 - all indicative of a bad IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. Essentially regulates the amount of air entering the throttle body through a piston mechanism. It's the right valve, not a cheaper aftermarket one - they won't work properly and you'll be chasing ghosts trying to diagnose the problem. Very easy to install. The engine now purrs like a kitten. Hope this helps someone.
