I have had an iPhone for many years and have always had a Speck case on all of them. I got a free case with a wallet slot on the back. I liked that I didn't have to carry my wallet around with me all the time, but didn't like that it made the phone very bulky. I liked that the case was shockproof, so I looked for a less bulky case from Speck. I found one I liked and bought it. It worked wonderfully. I've dropped my phone so many times and it has never shattered the glass even though I only had a thin plastic screen protector. When I upgraded to the iPhone 6, I looked again for the Speck case and found the updated Speck CandyShell with Grip. I bought it right away before ordering a new phone so I could put it on straight away. I also put on a protective glass as a backup. I kept dropping my phone and the case has always protected my phone. I had to buy a new case when I switched to the iPhone 8, but it's exactly the same case, just with a slightly wider lens cutout for the rear camera. The case worked so well and I will continue to buy cases like this. I've read some reviews that say it's not for the iPhone 8 as it has a round cutout at the bottom for headphones, but that's only because the case is for the iPhone 6/6s/7 and 8 and only the 8 no headphone jack. This is a very minor cosmetic design and does not affect the quality of the case in any way. I highly recommend getting this case
