This thick straw's potential is misrepresented. See image. The two straws on the left are high quality silicone straws that I use and am happy with. The red straw is perfect for liquids, while the sampler straw is perfect for thick smoothies and milkshakes. I was just trying to find longer milkshake straws so I bought a pack of these Simka Rose silicone straws represented by the orange straw on the right. These straws are not only very thick but also of very poor quality and so thin that they crumple and are therefore totally unusable for the purpose advertised. And the seams are even thinner, like paper. The only advantage is that the straws pass the silicone test. I believe these straws were not tested before they were released and I will be back.
