Good price for a complete starter kit

My 11 year old girl said she wanted to learn "embroidery". So I bought her a beginner's book as a gift, which included step-by-step instructions on how to learn embroidery and cross-stitch techniques. I've included this "Starter" Cross Stitch Kit and "Starter" Embroidery Kit as a complete gift basket with everything you need to get started. With all the colorful yarn included in this set, the presentation looked pretty festive. she liked it! I was going to buy the plastic grille separately when I found this kit. The plastic net varies in price but tends to be more expensive making it a very attractive set, especially with the extra tools and mini-strands. Everything you need to get started already included. Tools (especially needles) are plastic, but they'll do just fine for starters. While it's possible to cut large sheets of mesh to the size you want, I appreciate the inclusion of smaller squares with smoother edges. (This reminds me that small scissors have not yet been tried.) All of this makes the first step in cross stitching more appealing. My only criticism is that the mini strands could be neater/tighter. We may have to roll them into balls if they start to get tangled. But given that the collection will help keep my daughter away from my stash of prettier yarns that I use for crocheting, that is very low. (This reminds me that small scissors have not yet been tried.) All of this makes the first step in cross stitching more appealing. My only criticism is that the mini strands could be neater/tighter.
