This little thermoelectric cooler works so well that there's some frost/ice developing around the cooling block on the back wall of the inside of the fridge. My IR thermometer shows a temperature of 33°F. This is while my room is at 64°F at night time (for optimal sleep as proven by studies). So it may not always cool to such a low temperature during the day while away and with the thermostat turned up, or if you keep your home above the standard 68°F room temperature while home to save money.All I can say is that it works as promised and cools at least 30°F below the ambient temperature, but possibly more. When I tested it to see how it performed and temporarily raised the ambient temperature up to 72°F for a few hours, the IR thermometer displayed an interior cooler temperature of 38°F-42°F, depending on where I measured (and possibly some heat transfer while the door was opened).
