Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Wireless Inkjet Office All-In-One Printer - Canon PIXMA MX452 (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Dallas Grover

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost perfect, but not quite.

Firstly I bought this printer to replace my old Canon printer which had lost contact. I could no longer connect the USB cable I needed to print and scan to my computer. I have a small room where I have my desktop so wireless seemed perfect. Setting up the wireless network was a little disappointing. The quick start guide does not include instructions for routers with a WEP key. It took me a few times to get away before throwing it out the window trying to figure out how to enter the numbers required to make it work. After I installed the router key, it worked great. Easy loading, crisp printing and I no longer have to worry about broken cables and pins. It takes a minute to start printing, but once started is fast. Scanning was easy too, just like my older model. I haven't noticed any problems with ink, I've already printed 15 pages. The ink is definitely cheaper than my old model so maybe that's Canon's thing and I don't see what others are saying about usage. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because my old model had a backlit menu screen which made it easier to read. This one doesn't, which means I actually have to use the flashlight on my phone to read it. That's partly my fault, I keep it in a closet on a shelf, as I said, not enough space for my desktop computer. You also have to get out of scan mode on the printer, I think they could integrate it a bit more into the software and let me do that from my computer. I haven't tried fax yet, so no help from me. It basically does what I wanted and I can't live reading the menu for less than $60 for a three-in-one meal. I use it for my kid's volunteer work and schoolwork. If you're trying to run a business, spend more money and buy a model. But if you're looking for a maximum of 20-30 sheets per week, I think that's what you need.
