I have two LG 4K monitors, one connected to the hub via Thunderbolt, the other via DisplayPort. It's a constant struggle with the 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar to get them to wake up in a consistent configuration, or even turn them on at all (often just one). The Mac then quickly overheats and bobs its way through the window management since everything has been reconfigured since the last session; The computer has not fully recovered and cannot be used for a minute or two. Even with one monitor plugged directly into the Mac and one left connected through a hub, the issues remain. And it gets worse if you disconnect your Mac from the hub and reconnect it later. These problems don't occur when you connect to monitors directly from a Mac; It wakes up smoothly with everything in the same configuration I left it in and is up and running in seconds (although sometimes a monitor goes blank for a second or two). For the price, the Brydge hub is very disappointing (although for what it's worth, I have no complaints about their vertical dock). Thanks to Sean for recommending CalDigit; definitely give it a chance.
