Looked cute when assembled for my granddaughter's birthday party. The threads they provided were meant to be tied right down the middle and I found a few to be quite short so I just used curling ribbon to tie them. I didn't have much trouble with tearing, I just split a few sheets and then split them into separate sheets. When it breaks, it's imperceptible. A little work but nice.
