Review on 📚 LeapFrog Blues Clues Really Notebook: Unleash Your Child's Learning Potential! by Luis Jacob

My daughter loves Blue and You's Clues and the signature toy of the series is Handy Dandy's notebook. I saw this one and the other one we bought. Since this is a LeapFrog branded toy I assumed it would be a good experience. This is a really badly designed toy. Good - This toy really resembles the props used in the TV show. - She seems pretty solid. - The images on the device are really well done and slightly reminiscent of the characters of the show. .The Bad- It doesn't do much. At a time when kids are being introduced to the interactive iPad and far more engaging learning devices, this isn't going to capture the attention of most kids at all. It's basically a grid of pictures of characters from the show, you click on them and they offer to play games. - It's not very intuitive. For example, a game might ask a child to count. It will light up ten images and ask you to count. My daughter always said "10". After several tries, we realized that they want you to click on each square while counting the numbers. It was totally unintuitive. It feels like the Blue's Clues license has been buckled. I think the developers made the best of a toy that probably already existed and just added Blue's Clues visuals and sounds. Whatever the fun/education is, it won't last long. There are only fifteen buttons total plus a home button to press. Each button seems to have only one, maybe two functions. Every time you press the button it says the same thing or maybe a variation. Combined with the bad, non-intuitive nature of games, I don't see most kids playing with them for very long. My daughter kept picking it up and pressing the buttons hoping to find more fun. You really missed the opportunity. The toy is well made and I would be willing to pay more for a toy that can do more.
