Once a year we get shoe money and for 20 years I've been buying a pair of Timberland Pit Boss boots but this year I decided to try these shoes because of the weight and I liked them when I have one Tried on pair on the spot and to be honest the quality of the Pit Boss boots has been getting worse every year. I wore these shoes for 60 days and my toes started to pull out exposing the assembled toe box rendering them unusable because the company I work for at the time considered them unsafe. When I called Timberland I was directed to a website where I could fill out a return form and send it back at my own expense. A few days later I got my shoes back with a letter saying it was normal wear and tear and I wasn't insured so I called customer service who again told me it was normal wear and tear and was not a factory defect. Understand I'm a supervisor so I don't do anything that could be considered heavy for a pair of shoes and I've never had a problem with other boots or shoes I've worn, they've all lasted at least a year. In this installment of Timberland's excellent customer service, I feel compelled to let you, the consumer, know what you get under warranty. I felt like I had been scammed and if this review keeps one more person from being ripped off I feel like this wasn't the waist of the time.
