Sorry for typos. :/ If you like to be creative and build something new, then Tubes is the way to go. If you have a smaller rodent, that's great too. I have a dwarf hamster/robot. It's small enough to roll around in those tubes. They also have plenty of air holes so I feel comfortable if he spends a lot of time in them. They are very easy to assemble. Take the 2 sides that come together, make sure the teeth pins have a pin that goes to the female, line them up and hold them together, then put the ring on. Repeat for other parts and connect them. It is important to know which cages are suitable for these pipes. Each cell of ferpast will connect. If you don't need a cage from Ferplast, they offer a DIY option that can be added to any cage. I would like to say that if you have watched any hamster youtubers they will say that only one continuous floor space counts for cage size. . No research has been done on this and this is an unfounded claim. Statement that you need 450 sqm. m of living space, also not fully occupied. There is very little research on hamsters and effective cage conditions that has been funded. My experience can help if you have a cage smaller than 450 square feet. Feet, and especially when your hamster is climbing the bars or chewing his whistle. I can't remember how long he climbed before and after I inserted the tubes, but with the two connected cages and the massive tube structure, he never climbs the cage's bars. Plank climbing is a metric that scientists derate to indicate the level of stress a hamster is experiencing. I've noticed a huge difference in our hamster's comfort and activity after adding the tubes. I think he's clearly a lot happier even though there's no space on the bottom of the cage. We have 3 packs of these tubes and cubes and he loves to spend most of his day in them. It has dug a hole in its filling, but spends most of its daylight hours in clear tubes. I think it's a bit strange, but he really seems to like her. You also don't have to have 4 cards on each side of the cube. I like to have 2 on the bottom, one on each side and 2 on the top, so each cube I would build will have a total of 6 connecting clips. This makes it easy to pop open a cube that's outside of the tube and leave a small treat for it, or take out the filling if it looks messy without much fuss. As mentioned above we have 3 sets of these and actually I would like more, but at $35 it's not an easy decision to just take them. I bought my first set for about $27, then $30, then $39, but still felt they were better value for money than the "official" Ferplast tubes, which were $15 can cost for just one tube. There is a new listing on Revain which includes several competitive Ferplast branded pipes including a $5 T. Give it a try if you need 1-2 more. Even then it will be the best price for a tube. Remember, as others have said, every piece in those 96 counts. So 3 parts are needed to assemble 1 tube (2 sides and 1 end ring). They also have cube wall connectors (which won't work with smaller grid cells) which sadly count towards that 96. Still, I think they're a decent deal. But at the same time, if you only buy one set, you will want more. But more is better for your hamster, who in the wild could run up to 5 miles a night!
