I am a 60 year old index 12 golfer with a 75 mph 7 iron and a 90 mph driver turn who always uses Bridgestone Tour B RXS and Srixon Q-Star balls Has. I bought these noodles for fun and switched them over the course of a month and a dozen rounds and... absolutely no difference in feel, distance or spin from the $4 RXS and Q-Star balls. I know noodles are two-piece and don't have a urethane finish, but they work the same way for me. Same 250 yards, same trajectories, same softer stick and stick feel, same stopping within a foot or two on good short shots on turf. It may be different for golfers with faster swings, but I just can't justify continuing to spend $4 a ball instead of $1 when I've proven to myself that there's no noticeable difference in feel or performance. If you're the same type of golfer, consider giving him a test of his own.
