Definitely not for heavy clothes otherwise it will take 5 hours. I put a few things in it and a large beach towel dries the same time as the clothes, of course it is winter clothes, so it takes longer, but it takes about 2.5-4 hours depending on the quantity. Also, try to get as much water out of the clothing as possible. It is better than air drying, the thickness of the cover is not very thick, but the heater heats the room it is in, as well as the clothes, there are ventilation holes on the top, I found it better a hole leaving it open will speed up the drying time. That's why I'm afraid the motor will catch fire if I leave it on for too long, so I check it regularly. Very easy setup, no issues, I'll update in a week if anything comes up. Yes it's much better than air drying but I bought it due to pregnancy and the coronavirus and of course I live in an apartment. I like this kind of design.
