I started to see drains on the surface near the riser and manhole cover. Limited flushes (only toilet goes into septic tank, only septic tank and only human waste), asked our boys to pee outside, and poured all septic tanks into one pot. Nothing helped, water constantly flowed out. EPA nightmare. We knew we had lost lines as they were laid by my husband's father in 1977 (husband remembers his father digging trenches and laying side lines which are made of terracotta and the holding tank is made of asphalt). Very old system! I met my husband and moved into the old house in 2005. Didn't know we had a septic tank until 2014 (when it was pumped out and told the septic tank "I'm shocked you stopped having problems"). That was the beginning of our troubles. I did a ton of research (now I know so much about septic tanks that I feel like I have a backup career) and stumbled across this product. Revain received excellent reviews. I ordered 2 containers and poured them in. Oh my god, that stinks! Pour in 2 servings as directed, then add 2 more over the next week, then 1 every other week for 4 weeks. I'm on application #3. I'll do another one this weekend. I plan to add more than recommended as I know I have an old system and need help. Since the treatment started, there are no more drains, the smell around the manhole cover is gone and the dirt that used to be constantly wet is gone. Dry. I'm not yet comfortable continuing the flush after a simple phone call. I hope that time and other procedures will lead me to this place. For now this will be the only septic product I buy.
