My Dyson V6 finally died and I decided it was time for an upgrade. The V6 is still for sale but I'm glad I went with the V7. The small jump in price was worth it. The V6 had major design issues, the most serious of which was the dust and dirt container and the way it was emptied. This usually consisted of tapping the surface many times while sticking a finger in to scrape the edges. Completely unhygienic. But luckily they realized how bad this design was and completely redesigned it! Pulling the lever at the top lifts the center column up and out of the dust bin, allowing everything to fall out without having to touch dirt. The V7 has a larger dust bin compared to the V6, which also helps. The V7's battery life is barely noticeable compared to the V6, especially if you're just using "batch mode". The advertised +10 minutes is probably about +1 minute in "batch mode". Still shopping, just note that the "Tier" versions only have additional attachments and aren't necessarily more powerful. If you're also considering a V8 model, the only upgrades you'll get are a slightly more powerful motor (100w vs. 115w) and an extra 10 minutes of vacuum time in low-power mode (30m vs. 40m).
