I like this product a lot. I wanted to write on plates and mugs to personalize gifts. I was told this can be done with a felt tip pen, so that's not true. The marker was washed off immediately after baking, and it seemed unsafe to put food on it. This pen worked great! I painted and decorated the plate and then baked it on the handle according to the instructions. After the plate had cooled, I scrubbed it with a dish brush and then put it in the dishwasher for a full cycle. When everything was finished, the words and decorations remained intact. I didn't even scratch it with my nails. I used it again a few months later and the pen worked like new. I look forward to using other colors. ***Edit*** January 29, 2015 I used the pen again and it still works like a charm. I keep it horizontal as they say and away from excessive heat/cold. I used it on a glass jar I bought at your local store, let it dry for 24 hours, then baked according to directions. Once it cooled I washed it in the sink and then put it in the dishwasher for a full cycle like I did when using it on ceramics. The results were the same. It wouldn't wash off and I couldn't scratch it off with my nails. The great thing is that I can place a picture or words on one side of the glass and trace the drawing with a pen. Really LOVE this pen. I will be ordering more in different colors soon. I have a BULLET TIP, it's thick and it's harder to pronounce short words. I will order a FINE TIP and see how it works. Reading a lot of the comments, I noticed that people say they let it air dry, but they don't mention they bake it in the oven. After you have created your design you will need to allow it to air dry for 24 hours and then BAKE it according to the instructions on the handle. It won't stay if you just let it air dry. I have used my plates and cups in the dishwasher and had no problems. Hope that helps.
