I have several pets and many of my candles are on the shelves. So better without flame. I love the quality of the light (nice and warm light), the color of the candle is lovely, light ivory and I didn't think I would care much about the remote control but oh my god I love it! And I love that it can be programmed to turn on automatically every night and then turn off automatically after 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours. I got them over Christmas (December 2020) and use them almost every night for 2-4 hours and they are still working (as of April 2021). Love it!
