I used to use stainless steel holders with rare earth (neodymium) magnets and that was a very bad decision. The stainless steel collar stays cut through the fabric of my expensive shirts. Rare earth magnets come with a warning that they can kill babies if swallowed. This alone is enough to NEVER use stainless steel collars with magnets. Also, the magnets keep falling off anyway and my collar doesn't stay in shape. After buying these detachable collar holders I have never gone back to crappy stainless steel collars with magnets. I have bought them again and again and will continue to buy them. They don't ruin my shirts. You endanger nobody. You stay all day. I love her. Highly recommended!
