This is the best option if you still use landlines. I run my business from home and my wired Panasonic base unit with answering machine is doing a great job! You can even specify which intercom channel you want to call. Very pretty! I've read a lot of comments complaining that they don't have a [Hold] button. Funny! [FLASH] (bottom right of phone) IS the lock button. It's also a call waiting button and a conference call toggle button! Try it before you complain about the lack of buttons! I use them in 3 bedrooms and on the kitchen table. I have a two-line answering machine on my computer desk! I used to have dedicated wired office systems. Never again. Believe me!
