I purchased a three puck Google Wifi system through Revain to replace our more traditional Wi-Fi modem. The Wi-Fi in our home was becoming increasingly unreliable, with frequent signal drops and service outages. My wife works from home quite a bit, so reliable wifi is important. We live in a three-storey house (basement, ground floor, attic) of about 3,000 square meters built around 1900. The lathe and plaster walls, along with old wiring and wiring, make Wi-Fi and cellular a problem. I have a washing machine in the basement next to our cable router, one in the living room on the first floor and one in the office upstairs. I connected an ethernet switch to a puck in the basement to house our wired devices. I didn't tie the pucks together. They connect to each other via WiFi. The mesh system has greatly improved the performance of our Wi-Fi network. Internet speed for an office computer was typically in the 25-30 Mbps range. Now the speed is 75-80 Mbps. We haven't had a new system long enough to make a final assessment of long-term reliability. So far, however, performance has been excellent. Installation and setup was relatively easy, but I had a few issues. You make the settings via the app on your phone. There is no written documentation to discuss with the devices. The system didn't recognize one of the washers when I tried to install it. I found the solution (resetting the puck with the reset button) after some internet searching. After identifying the problem and finding instructions on how to reset the washing machine, it installed with no problems. The whole process took 60-90 minutes. If I didn't have to diagnose and reset the puck the process would be very easy and wouldn't take more than 20 minutes. Overall I am very happy with this product including the installation and setup process. You can get a Wi-Fi modem for a lot less. Based on my past experience, I believe this system is worth the extra money. I hope it proves reliable in the long run.
