I've had a Midnite Solar Classic 150 for a few years now and I think I'm spoiled like many Features it has out of the box (remote monitoring is great for me). Anyway, I bought this charge controller as a backup in case my other one fails (it's a few hundred less than Midnite Solar) but when I plugged it in and used it for a few days I was very disappointed with the amount of information. I could get it out of the box from him. There's no way to remotely control anything unless you spend a few hundred dollars more on the device you need. I also had to pay extra for a battery temperature sensor which I believe came with the Midnite Solar 150. Anyway, figured I'd just buy another Midnite Solar 150 as a backup. I really like its features and am very used to the interface anyway. However, the Outback controller seemed like a really solid device and worked very well. I just didn't want to spend any more money to get the other stuff I needed to meet the Midnite's specs.
