I've tried many vocal mics and this is my favorite. Seriously, if you're recording at home, don't spend a fortune on a mic, your songs aren't going to sell any better. You need phantom power for this mic, and if you don't know what that is, put off buying a mic until you know more. You can also just buy an SM57, put a pop filter on it and sing along. SM7 (NPR mic, it takes A LOT of POWER to sound good, so don't buy it unless you have a powerful preamp. Back to the P220, you'll love it. Don't fall into equipment acquisition syndrome and buy more mics to try to sound like Sting or Adele It's not really the mic it's you And anyway no one cares about self-recorded songs so just have fun And get on with the day's work.
