I really liked the features of this unit (torch, USB charging port, extra alkaline batteries, etc.) but we've only had these radios for a little over two years. weeks, and they did not meet our needs at camp in the forest. We have 60 acres of wooded woods and fields. We hoped they would work for us. Unfortunately, they didn't have the range we expected. One of the batteries turned out to be defective upon arrival, so that it was not possible to work without the other batteries. The plastic also felt a little flimsy on the back cover/battery latch, which may not be suitable for outdoor activities.
