I use it in my car to power my home theater subwoofer (PL 200ii), it's a 250w sub/amp. I plugged it into a cigarette lighter and it only sounds great at 150-180 watts through a lighter. You need longer battery cables to have constant tuning through the battery to get full power from the inverter. You should never use the inverter when the car is off. Anything running from a car battery without turning on the alternator will destroy your battery. Can't tell if the fan is loud as it drives the 12" subwoofer.
