I wanted to make some Dresden plates with curved blades and I ordered these templates. I wanted to be able to cut the fabric with it instead of just tracing them and then cutting with scissors. I used a very small rotary cutter (18mm?) and was able to easily manipulate the curved top edge. However before cutting I sprayed some adhesive spray on the back of the stencil to keep it from slipping off while cutting and it really helped. In fact, it worked so well that I ended up cutting more blades and making a few more Dresden cymbals than I planned - they're quite addictive!
