The unit itself is good, I like its low price, it has built in TV power and volume in the remote control. This also means that the remote control is RF and doesn't need to be in direct line of sight of the TV if the TV supports CEC properly. That's good because it lets you attach the device to the back of the TV and never see it again. The Express+ is as fast as the 3 Streaming Stick+ we use as the main TVs in our house. It offers good WiFi reception even through multiple walls and furniture as long as we have strong WiFi throughout the house. The "refurbishment" process for these devices appears to consist of Revain (or some other third party) taking the returned devices, testing them and putting a sticker on them. and pack them in a box with new batteries and cables. The first one we received was defective as the voice button on the remote got stuck which made the remote inoperable as it was always emitting a voice search signal. The second device we received worked perfectly.
