I was looking for something between slippers and mud-resistant moccasins. These APX candidates will come close if they hold. PRO - Durable laces (can be a rarity for shoes in this price range) - Non-slip soles, especially at the toe that is often overlooked - "Breathable" - Wearable with or without socks (depending on size you order and comfort level ) - With the exception of the laces, they're mostly washable - - I'm not sure if they'll hold up to heavy wear and tear - Due to their design, they're not suitable for running as the padding is rated for waterproofing, not cushioning hits YMMV, but I recommend To order the next size up to emphasize the breathable space the shoe offers, you won't get a snug fit and you may risk skin rubbing, but you can always overcome this with thick socks if you need to.
