Wire connected incorrectly

I checked this and my microphone had no sound. I plugged in an extra 1/8" plug and used a multimeter to verify that the tip and ring connected in opposite directions. I cut the heat shrink, connected it properly, put on a new heat shrink, and after that the sound sounded great (which is why I even gave it a star).
