Review on Edifier W820NB Headphones - Hybrid ANC - Hi-Res Audio - 49H Battery Life - Bluetooth Over Ear Wireless Headphones for Phone Calls - Black by Juan Simpson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sound quality is excellent, with a few flaws that had to be addressed to reach this price point.

I heard about the Edifier brand when I was looking for bookshelf speakers, but didn't know they made headphones until I saw them. I was interested in trying them out because I had a positive impression of the brand (although I haven't heard either speaker personally) and after seeing the low price of them I was curious how they would perform. The good news is that they sound great, are comfortable, the noise cancellation works well and are very affordable. Sounds good bass, clear mids, good treble, generally just a pleasure to listen to. They also sound good on the phone. You can turn noise cancellation on or off, or switch to ambient noise mode, which lets outside noise through so you can hear your surroundings better. The bad news is that they are missing some things that you may not have included with the case. The earbuds fold down a bit to fit flat, but no case is found. I found this disappointing because I've had several pairs of these headphones, wired or wireless, at various prices over the years, all of which have historically come with some sort of case. They also don't have a 3.5mm headphone jack, so Bluetooth is the only connection option. I personally don't mind as I don't feel like listening to wired things, but there are times when this option can come in handy. Corners that had to be trimmed to get it at this price. Personally, I'd like the price to be $5-10 more to convince them, but that's it.
