I did a lot of research before I bought these boots. I needed some sort of safety shoe for my dog Tater because we walk five times a day and I wanted her to have the very best boots. Even in bad weather she has to mind her own business! I wanted quality boots that would keep her paws warm and protected and I was confident I bought them when I got these Muttluks boots. I followed the instructions on the Muttluks website for measuring and sizing and bought a medium size (she measures her right in the middle of the medium size range of 3.25" to 3.75" so I figured they would be medium). fits perfectly). They appear to be very well made. Well, it was cold in here, but it's been getting colder lately. In fact, I believe the record was broken (or almost broken) earlier this week. And that's why we're not taking long walks for fun and exercise right now - we're taking very quick, "just business" walks. Tater had worn Muttluks around the house for a few hours and they worked great and didn't seem to bother her at all, but the very first time she wore them outside, for a very short walk (less than a dozen yards in a clearing sidewalk), two shoes immediately fell off. I took them out and decided we didn't need to have the velcro fastened tight enough. The next morning, with temperatures below zero and a wind of 25 degrees, it was time for Tater to get back to his work. I took great care to put the boots on perfectly. I put them on exactly as directed, making sure my toes reached the inside of the boot. Then I tightened them as tight as I could with the velcro. I specifically made sure the boots fit snugly, didn't drag at the toes, and didn't sag anywhere. The boots didn't close tighter and seemed to fit snugly around her legs. And that morning, when it was so cold and windy that our little walk brought tears to both our faces, Muttluk's shoes failed us again and did not live up to what they promised or expected, as three of them immediately left the place. her legs. We didn't get much further than last night. Tater's paws were unharmed and we got back inside as quickly as we could. But to say I'm disappointed in these boots would be a gross understatement. In fact, I almost got mad that they weren't cheap (a fact that didn't bother me at all when I thought these boots were great). It's not too hard to ask for the boots to work as advertised, but they don't. I cannot recommend them. I sent the above content (edited slightly because it was an email asking for help and not a product review) to Muttluks using the email address on their website. I posted this letter Monday morning asking for suggestions. I have not received an answer (up to three business days have passed). So I'm not impressed with either the product or the company.
