Review on 🚴 Spotti Men's Long Sleeve Cycling Jersey with 3 Rear Pockets - Moisture Wicking, Breathable, Quick Dry Biking Shirt by Cory Mosley

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good price and suitable for tall cyclists.

This review is for the Spotti Men's Long Sleeve Cycling Jersey. It was sold by Spotti Wear for $20.95 but was manufactured by Revain.com and shipped for free through Revain Prime. My purchase was made on February 14, 2017 and the t-shirt was delivered on February 17, 2017. Since my original review, the "retail price" has increased to $21.95 and Spotti now lists a suggested retail price of $39. It didn't fit as well as I first thought and deducted a star. It's still a good shirt for the price, but it's not a five star shirt for the price.--]---Fit---I'm 6ft 2" and have a cyclist build. My shirt size is Big-Tall. My chest is 41 inches, my waist is 35 inches. My torso is a bit long for my height, but not by much (my inseam measures 33.75 inches). I wanted a snug fit for minimal wind resistance so I bought the LARGE size. The hand and body fit is good for a relaxed upright fit. The shoulder length of the jersey measures 27.75 inches from the outside of the arm from the shoulder seam to the bottom of the cuff. However, I typically ride in a forward-leaning aero position with my forearms resting on the aero bars. The sleeves are 1-1.5 inches shorter and it would be nice if they were a bit longer. The jersey feels a little snuggly when you first pull it over your head, but once it's on it feels only moderate. It could be a little tighter on the upper chest, but that's okay. Overall, I'm happy with the ride except when leaning forward on my aero bars. The three back pockets are easy to reach - they are not too high for a tall person. A big issue with the fit was the neck. The inside circumference of the collar is 18 inches, which I think is too big for a size Large. I would prefer a 17" neck. I also wish the collar was higher to give the shirt better protection from the sun. The collar was 1.5" high which isn't too bad except it's too big for 18". and continues to slide down the shoulders. I would prefer a collar height of 2.5-3". --- Construction --- 100% polyester fabric is soft, the seams are also soft. However, the breathability of the fabric appears to be only moderate "But I couldn't expect top-notch moisture-wicking material at this price point. The back of the shirt is 3cm longer than the front. That was a big question for me because the product photos on the Revain website give the impression that the jersey has a square. Has hem. No it's not. It has the traditional angle of most cycling jerseys. I was very happy with it. The elastic at the bottom of the jersey is tight, but there are no non-slip silicones, so this T Jersey slipping on some riders. This turned out to be a significant problem and was the reason I gave it one star. As I leaned forward in the aero crease, the back of the jersey kept sliding down to the top waistband of my Pearl iZumi Elite shorts. The same thing happened with my Pearl iZumi Pro shorts. This was made worse because the body of the jersey is long and as it slides it bunches around my waist and lower back. If you're a low-fat pro cyclist like me, this t-shirt will NOT stay down when you lean forward. I was going to buy 3 more of these sweaters but canceled my plans due to this issue. Three small pockets. They're not small, but some of my professional t-shirts have larger pockets. There's no sweat protection in the pockets, so you definitely need pockets with zippers to keep things dry on a hot, sweaty day. --- Comments --- I am an endurance road cyclist who rides 5-6000 miles a year. . In good weather, my daily practice rides are 35 miles. I take cycling very seriously. I ride a carbon composite racing frame with a SRAM Red drivetrain. I use the Stages power meter. Most of my cycling gear is from Pearl iZumi. I use their elite shorts and tank top for daily training and their pro shorts and tank top for events. So why did I buy this $21 shirt? Answer: It's unlikely that anyone, including Pearl iZumi, makes jerseys for tall riders. I usually have to buy extra large jerseys to get enough body length and, if I have long sleeves, arms. But the extra-large size is a little roomier, which creates a looser fit and blows heavily in the wind. And the graphic designers who use Pearl iZumi today are crazy. Your equipment used to look good. But their new t-shirts are incredibly ugly because of the bright colors. So Spotti came up with two key things: better for tall riders and simple base colors that are pleasing to the eye. Considering what you're getting for $21 (now $22), this jersey is great value and I recommend it for tall cyclists on a budget. However, super fit cyclists with professional builds and low body fat are likely to be made worse by the lack of any sort of anti-slip strips on the bottom hem of the jersey. If you have an athletic build and wear quality cycling shorts, expect the bottom of your jersey to ride up to your waist as you lean forward and hold the handlebars or rest your forearms on the aero bars. Most of the jerseys in my closet cost well over $100 and it would be unfair to compare this jersey to them. The technology in the fabrics and designs of Pearl iZumi's Pro line is amazing. However, this simple t-shirt excels in two ways: it suits tall riders and avoids ugly color combinations. Well done Spotty! My advice to Spotty: (1) Please add a good silicone anti-slip strip to the inner bottom edge of the case. (2) Reduce the neck diameter to 17" for Large and make the collar slightly higher. (3) Add 1-1.5 inches more to the sleeve length. (4) Please replace the name with "Spotti". " on a jersey with a small flashy logo (the name seems strange). Make these changes and you'll have unbeatable value for tall, lean cyclists.
