Review on ⚡️ AMPINVT MPPT Solar Charge Controller 12V 24V 36V 48V Battery System Auto, Max Input 150V PV Solar Regulator Negative Grounded (MPPT-60A): Efficient Solar Charging Controller for Multiple Voltage Levels by David Epps

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Processed! The controller works fine until it stops. No support after real problems.

Edit Sep 6th The device still works great. If the Wi-Fi app was a little better, I would buy a different one (although the cost of their Wi-Fi box is quite high). The support service told me that the device works with the Modbus Rs485 protocol, but I didn't have time to play around with it much. Just make sure you are driving a DC load with a maximum current of around 10A and use a high rated SSR/contactor to actually drive your load. The new device seems to work great. I wish they had come up with a model that matches the LV2424 as the app actually seems to be one of the most used of all non-mesh brands. (quick updates from controller, no problem except can't reliably change charger settings). Edit (5 Aug 2020): A new device arrived and worked with a WiFi adapter. Unfortunately this did not happen on the LCD but Vivian sent me a step to quickly replace the LCD from my other device as it is exactly the same. After that I had no more problems with him. The hardware is very well designed, but I think the QC needs more validation. At least they were willing to help me and sent me a brand new squad. YMMV but after all is said and done I'm increasing my original rating to 5 stars as they got through it and gave me something that works again. Edit: After a long week with several people, I finally spoke to Vivian. She sent me a new one and once the replacement arrives I will upgrade it to 4+ stars. OLD REVIEW Got it because they were "cheap" and comparable to others. Works fine if you're lucky I guess. It installed for several weeks with no problems, even with the DC load option. I have a WiFi box (for a hundred bucks extra, it's just an ESP8266 with a converter board). The app is lackluster at best. It will show you some information. Nothing seems accurate and the app barely interacts with the controller long enough to try to change a setting it has. It talks to the "cloud" or some server in China that probably stores the data. The DC load option on mine is defective (always on so I can't turn my inverter on and off with PV or schedule it I think because it can't switch MOSFETs or whatever they use in the actual total power of the controller. (My inverter constantly draws about 30A FWIW, with circuit breaker even at 30A.)) I never got a reply from "Top One Power". I even tried several email accounts and their Facebook Messenger platform. Stay away if you're unlucky with the person. Not worth being such a decent product spoiled by poor design and durability. I never write product reviews, but hopefully no one is hoping that they seem to make other "good" products (like NOT-AN - AIMS inverters, etc.). Don't waste money like I'm doing now. Get some MPP Solar or EP Ever and don't waste your time and energy! With time and money I could get a LV series from MPP Solar that just works. As an IT admin, I would rate it 0/5 stars if I could. I can't imagine not knowing wifi/networks and trying to figure out the app and manual in broken English.
