Beware customer, these bulbs are VERY HOT! Temperatures are just under 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit in the center and over 530 degrees Fahrenheit on the edges! Seller must have extreme temperature warnings in the description. DO NOT USE where children can access and keep away from pets! I bought the 50 watt because at the time it was the lowest power rating I could find, I didn't want too much heat - what a mistake. I used a lightbulb in our barn on a night when the temperature was below freezing and overheated a 100 cu ft room. One of our chickens hit the end of the lightbulb and it burned the feathers on her back! After this terrifying discovery, I immediately turned off the lightbulb that had only been on for a few hours. I can't imagine anything so dangerous in a human home, especially around children or precious pets! Could be a FIRE HAZARD! It even darkened the porcelain lamp it was screwed into!
