Price, $34.99, outrageously inflated by Weston for 2 pieces of teflon tape and 2 foam gaskets. I'm sure they could make a profit selling the $3.49 kit, but what else should I do, throw away my expensive sealant? Installation was easy, less than 10 minutes. When installing the gaskets, first insert the ovals, and then move to the center, being careful not to stretch the foam. Teflon tape is a bit trickier, especially since the adhesive is minimal so it's not worth moving the tape after it's attached. The wider piece comes from below, above the heating element. Of course, remove the old glue. The new narrow strip on the lid would probably fall off if I left the lid open for 30 minutes [such bad glue]. Right after installing the kit I've used the machine about 5 times and it works better than before, but at some point that tape needs to be put on the lid. If the tape doesn't stick well, it's too easy to press a crease on it when cleaning.
